Spotlight On – Dizzy & Creative

Company Name: Dizzy & Creative

When did you start the business: We launched our first range of 9 kits at London Olympia in March 2016, making March 2021 our 5th Birthday

What are your business hours: Always open online

About your business: Dizzy & Creative design fun and quirky embroidery kits for all levels of stitching experience.

From innovative Embroidery in 2-Stitch Steps for beginners, through stumpwork and freestyle designs for the more confident and more challenging Crewel Work, the Dizzy & Creative range provides a ‘something different’ kit for everyone.

Most Dizzy & Creative kits look more complicated than they actually are to complete, making this quirky label a great confidence builder. The carefully written guidance is fully illustrated and all kits contain our signature step by step stitch guides for both right and left handed stitchers. We source from the UK first, and place Customer and Quality at the heart of the brand.

What do you sell: Our own-design embroidery kits

Geographic locations you deal in: Our new monthly subscription service ‘Strand & Deliver’ brings new and sometimes exclusive Dizzy & Creative embroidery kits through the door every month.

With Standard subscriptions, Light subscriptions (for beginners and busy people) and one-off ‘try before you buy’ options, there’s a plan to suit every level of experience and lifestyle.

UK subscribers can pay by monthly plan; overseas subscribers can pay by a 3, 6 or 12-month block.

How has COVID-19 affected you and what you are doing to service customers We’re lucky to be in a business which has not been adversely affected by Covid-19. We have had to take additional precautions in airing materials and packing up kits, but can only praise to the skies the efforts of all our suppliers and delivery services, who haven’t once let us down.

It’s been a huge disappointment to be unable to attend the large events where we would normally meet and talk with our customers, share stories, inspiration and ideas. However, we have seen an increase in sales online and via TV (Hochanda).
