Spotlight On – LaceyMay’s Haberdashery

Why I start the business: I have always worked in retail since moving to Dorset. The last the job then was getting very unsafe with staff levels being reduced but the customers where rising. There was a couple of incidents which made me not feel safe. My mother asked what I would prefer to do and decided to take up the previous selling of Haberdashery. I had done it before but as only a hobby. I was looking for item that where not that very easy to get hold of but easy to post. I have always posted with the Royal Mail and have continued to post through the lockdown.

Since the lockdown and with the shop, Sea Horse Quilting in Canford Heath Poole has temporary closed, we were not sure what was going to happen. Luckily we have seen a slight increase in sales.

What product categories I sell: – We sell most haberdashery tools to help you sew hand and machine, quilt, Knit, embroider. Like Hoops, needles machine and hand sewing. Scissors, fabric glue sticks marker pens sewing clips knitting pins and crochet hocks. Rulers, rotary cutter and mats,

What Brands I sell: Prym, Le Summit, Klasse, Milward, Pony, Clover, Simplicity, Fiskars, Westcott, Kleiber, Stix2, Sewline, Sew Mate, Sew Easy, Hemline, Colonial, Elbesee. To man a few

Promotions on at the moment: We run First Class postage on the first Friday of each month on all item purchased on the Friday. This is at no addition cost to the customer. Is  automatically sent First class
