As crafters worldwide increasingly embrace digital platforms to engage with their love of knitting and crochet, we are delighted to announce the launch of our new website in conjunction with the Spring Summer 2021 season. The brand-new Rowan website is brimming with inspiration and design – everything that a Rowan knitter could want to know about their favourite yarn brand, all in one place.

The Rowan team have worked hard to ensure that visitors to the site are inspired and informed, whether that’s by reading the stories behind the yarns, having the opportunity to uncover more about the design collections – including the iconic Rowan Magazine – or hearing about the designers behind them. There is also the opportunity to discover what’s new, catch up on all the latest stories in our regular blog, and of course browse the pages of the latest digital newsletter too. There is also a comprehensive store locator to help find your local yarn store and the opportunity to learn more about the worldwide network of Rowan Flagship stores on our special dedicated pages.

As well as being able to browse the collections, visitors to this new website can also purchase Rowan products, including the full range of current yarns, design collections and accessories. Shop effortlessly with our kit builder function which allows you to browse and select all the key elements of your chosen project including pattern, yarn and needles.

Whether you want to find out more about a certain yarn or design, or simply want to discover more about Rowan, there are many ways to navigate around the site. So, what are you waiting for? Pour yourself a cuppa, get comfortable and browse!

ABOUT ROWAN YARNS, Company Statement

The name Rowan was inspired by the beautiful shrubs lining the banks of the river Holme in Yorkshire, an area deeply entwined in textile heritage and tradition. Established in 1978, we started life above a grocery store near Huddersfield, initially specialising in kits.

Later, the team moved to a traditional former textile mill nearby and we are still based in West Yorkshire today. Our founders Stephen Sheard and Simon Cockin wanted to produce knitting yarns, which were both quality and perfect for the design trends of the time, showcasing an array of natural fibres in a paintbox colour palette. They placed the utmost value on providing yarn shades which could be translated into timeless design, and these values are still at the core of Rowan today.

Today, we use the inspiration of key designers such as Kaffe Fassett, Martin Storey, Brandon Mably, ARNE & CARLOS, Quail Studio, Georgia Farrell and Lisa Richardson to create our seasonal pattern collections. Our ultimate aim remains to offer a selection of high-quality yarns, which are a pleasure to knit with and to wear. Rowan designs represent a full range, from heritage and timeless pieces to modern and fashion reflective knitwear, all with an emphasis on the best fibres available.
