Two New Craft Experts on Crafter’s TV

Crafter’s TV Welcomes Two New Craft Experts

Crafter’s TV, the live digital channel dedicated to crafting and run by Crafter’s Companion, is welcoming two new craft experts.

Michelle McCarthy joins the team as the latest craft expert and Becky Sworn is joining as a specialist soft craft expert.

Both Michelle and Becky will demonstrate craft techniques and inspiring makes live on air alongside the channel’s existing craft experts and presenters Becky Redican, Joe Remblance and Ben Moseby.

Both bring with them decades of crafting experience and creativity. New soft craft expert Becky Sworn comes from a creative family, the child of prop and costume makers at Shepperton Studios.

Prior to joining Crafter’s TV, Becky worked for her husband’s estate agency before starting her own fabric and craft kit business, Changs. She has guest presented for Sewing Quarter and regularly appears on Create & Craft with her brand.

Becky, who lives in London with her husband, said: “I was brought up in a very creative family and spent most of my life with either a needle or a paintbrush in my hand and generally covered in glitter! I’m so excited to be working with Crafter’s TV soft craft expert Bernie Corner and also to work for a brand that has such a diverse product range, there is quite literally something here for everyone. I think I’ve tried every kind of craft and feel incredibly lucky that I have a dream job where I get to play with fabric, inks, ribbons or paints all day long! It’s like a dream come true.”

Michelle comes to the role following a number of years on the Crafter’s Companion design team creating card and craft samples for on-air shows. After getting into craft 13 years ago via a card making kit, she is now a dedicated papercrafter with an in-depth knowledge of Crafter’s Companion tools and materials, particularly the Gemini die cutting and embossing machine.

As well as being able to create cards and 3D makes of all shapes, sizes and styles, Michelle uses craft as a way to practice mindfulness and is always looking to try new things.

She said: “I love to make anything and everything with paper and card and I’m so excited to share my passion and ideas with the Crafter’s TV viewers. I never thought of myself as creative so being able to show viewers how much fun crafting can be, what can be achieved and not to be scared of trying new things will be a real privilege. I’m also looking forward to having a good chat and a bit of fun!”

Crafter’s TV is an interactive platform where crafters can find inspiration, education and shop while they watch. The digital channel currently broadcasts more than 35 hours of live shows each week, shining the spotlight on new and innovative crafting products with live tutorials and demonstrations.

Jeni Santillo, Head of Broadcast Operations, said: “We’re so thrilled to welcome not one but two new craft experts to the team. It will be so exciting to share their talent, ability and creativity with our Crafter’s TV Community!”
